Presentation and round tables made up the business program of the Moscow culture days

A tourist presentation Welcome to Moscow and a round table discussion on cooperation in the sphere of environmental safety and environmental protection were held as part of the business programme of Days of Moscow Culture in Bangkok. Experts in the sphere of tourism note that not only the number of Russian tourists to Thailand has been growingin recent years, but also the number of Thai tourists coming to Russia and, in particular, Moscow. So, in the first half of 2017, the number of tourists from Thailand increased by 60 percent compared to the same period last year.

During the presentation Welcome to Moscow, Alexey Tikhnenko, Head of the Hotel Industry Unit of the Moscow Department of Sport and Tourism, Rapeepat Ketkosol, Chief of the Tourism Development Subdivision of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Bangkok Administration, and Natapong Kammungkul, Manager for Russia at SuperZup company shared their experience in addressing the issues related to promoting the tourist industry in the capitals of Russia and Thailand.

Representatives of the Moscow Government and the Bangkok Administration shared their experience on planting greenery in urban areas, preserving and developing city parks, introducing environmental monitoring systems, and handling household rubbish, as well as outlined promising cooperation projects duringa round table discussion focusing on cooperation in the field of environmental protection. Melnikov and his colleague Head for Innovation-Driven Development and Technology Solutions Yelena Tarasova, as well as representatives of the Environmental Protection Department of the Bangkok Administration Yarupong Pengliyeng, Suhada Bosup and Nuanfan Fawaus, Head of the State Environmental Protection Centre Alexey Biryukov, representatives of Mosecomonitoring Marina Vrud and Leonid Khrunov, Director of Lumpini Park Prachen Ruamkratok, and Technical Director of the Environmental Resources Management’s Bangkok office David Nickolson.

The Moscow delegation visited a number of cultural heritage sites in Bangkok and the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park.
