Conference on development of cooperation with Moscow was held in Bangkok

A conference on expanding cooperation highlighted the second day of the business programme within the Days of Moscow Culture in Bangkok.

"For us, Days of Moscow Culture in Bangkok, which this forum is part of, mark a very important and even historical event. The activities of such scale have not been held in Bangkok before," said Sergey Cheryomin, head of the Moscow delegation, Minister and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.

"Importantly, our cities have made great strides in their development over 20 years of our cooperation,” the Minister said. “At the moment, Moscow and Bangkok are perhaps among the most competitive metropolitan are as internationally. Sharing experience is vital for us, and it is important to encourage mutual investments, tourism, and cultural exchanges."

These days, Bangkok is celebrating its 125th anniversary, which fortunately coincided with Days of Moscow Culture, Mrs. Wanvilai Promlakano, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, said at the conference. She urged its participants to discuss relevant bilateral projects, share their experience, and outline prospects for future cooperation.

Ambassador pointed out adding that the Thai companies show great interest in implementing joint projects in a variety of fields.

Sergey Cheryomin invited the Thai business community to start a discussion and described the opportunities for investing in the Russian capital and promising projects contemplated by the Moscow Government. The head of the Department emphasised that the city government guarantees protection against non-commercial risks to investors.

Viktor Yankovsky, Director for Business Development at STENN International, shared his company's experience in supporting Russian exports to the Asian markets. Sverre Golten, Managing Director at A&S Thai Works Co. Ltd, used his presentation to cover an important aspect, such as mutual understanding between Russian and Thai investors. Alexey Tyutin, representative of the Managing Committee of the Thai-Russian Chamber of Commerce, spoke about successes and difficulties involved in the implementation of a business project using a sturgeon breeding farm as a case in point. Kenny Ng, Director for Investment at Inventis Investment Holdings, and Tatyana Sheremetyeva, President of the Russian-Asian Business Union Group, focused on Russia’s investment potential in their remarks.
